Media mogul David Geffen lists enormous Fifth Avenue co-op for $27.5M

The two-bedroom apartment spans 5,000-square-feet

Billionaire David Geffen is looking to sell a massive 5,000-square-foot co-op overlooking Central Park, the Wall Street Journal reports. Media mogul Geffen wants $27.5 million for the two-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom pad that’s located on Fifth Avenue at the Parc V building.

Some of the standout features in this unit include a sound-proofed screening room with a projectionist booth, a wet bar, a chef’s eat-in kitchen, and exposures on all four sides. Geffen purchased the apartment in 2010 for $14.17 million, and the unit itself was designed by the late Charles Gwathmey with the furniture designed by Rose Tarlow, according to the WSJ.

Geffen will likely move on to a 12,000-square-foot duplex penthouse he purchased for $54 million in 2012. Renovation work on that penthouse hasn’t gone down too well with his neighbors however with one of his neighbors having filed a lawsuit in March this year about the alleged damage caused to their apartment due to the construction work.

Last year Geffen made a $100 million contribution to the Lincoln Center, which in turn led the institution to rename Avery Fisher Hall as David Geffen Hall.
