New Upper West Side building The Chamberlain unveils its interiors

FXFOWLE and Champalimaud teamed up to design the building, where apartments will start at $2.5M

The Chamberlain’s full website launched this morning, bringing with it a slew of new renderings that unveil the new building’s high-end interiors and amenity spaces. The Champalimaud-designed apartments appear predictably luxurious—this is the Upper West Side, after all—with renderings showing off walk-in closets, marble-bedecked master bathrooms, and contemporary kitchens with stainless steel appliances.

Apartments will range in size from two to five bedrooms, with prices starting at $2.5 million. Developers Simon Baron and Quadrum tapped architecture firm FXFOWLE to build a new 17-story building with 39 apartments on the former site of a parking garage. (To be clear, the apartments will not be condos.) The development between West End Avenue and Broadway also packs in three penthouses and two townhouses.

Amenities in the building will include a private central garden, a kids playroom, a lounge, a library, a gym, and a multi-purpose court that can be used for pick-up basketball games as well as film screenings. Sales were initially anticipated in late summer, and are now expected to launch in the fall.
