DDG's Next Luxury Condo Will Rise On the Site of a Chelsea Gallery

The developer is bringing nine high-end condos to the site of Anton Kern Gallery

Blindsiding no one, luxury condo developer DDG filed plans this week for an 11-story condo development in Chelsea. The developer picked up 532 West 20th Street, currently a single-story building occupied by Anton Kern Gallery, in late 2014 saying that they saw "huge long-term value in this site." When apartments at DDG's other new luxury condo developments XOCO 325 and 12 Warren Street are routinely nabbing more than $2,000 per square foot, of course they see huge value in the site.

YIMBY reports that the building will have nine condos starting on the third floor, with parking for 10 cars and 10 bikes. Each apartment will cover a whole floor and the penthouse apartment will have private roof space. Tenants will also have access to a shared roof deck, laundry facilities, a landscaped yard, and a 24-hour concierge. YIMBY notes that HTO Architects applied for the permit, but that DDG usually handles their design in-house.
