New Details on Robert A.M. Stern’s 70 Vestry Street

Units will start at $6.25 million

The Robert A.M. Stern creation at 70 Vestry Street in Tribeca is not more than a hole in the ground right now, but new details about the 13-story, 46-unit, limestone-clad, Related-developed project. The apartments will have ceilings higher than 12 feet in some units, the New York Times reported. While it was reported earlier that the average price would be $14 million, the starting price will be $6.25 million.

Other details include kitchen features. Each will have four different ovens: steam, convection, traditional, and speed. "Honed marble master baths" will have nickel-framed fluted-glass doors and side-by-side medicine cabinets. Some units will have two washers and two dryers.

Before you even get to your fancy condominium, you will be greeted by "sheets of water coursing down" the entry courtyard. Parking will be via an automated system.

As for the design of the building, Stern told the Times he found inspiration turn of the 20th century warehouses he described as "both gutsy and refined."

Topping out is due in 2017 and occupancy in 2018.
