Quirky and colorful Chelsea co-op wants $849,000

The boldly colored one-bedroom could, presumably, get changed by its new owner

Welcome back to The Six Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.

A quirky one-bedroom Chelsea coop a few blocks from the High Line has hit the market for $849,000. In addition to and roomy living area and a super-spacious bedroom overlooking West 16th Street, the apartment has a cozy separate office and designated dining area. The kitchen also exists. (It is fine.)

While the listing also makes note of a decorative fireplace, the real selling point here —besides layout and location—is the exposed brick, which is extremely plentiful and equally charming. Right now, the rest of the walls are painted rather boldly, which gives the place a lot of personality. (If it is not your personality, it is presumably easy to change.)

The building itself is currently undergoing a bit of a makeover—according the listing, the common hallway has just had a "tasteful modern renovation" and the lobby is next. Monthly maintenance for the pet-friendly unit comes in at $1,336.
