Opulent Upper West Side townhouse with 'museum quality' restoration wants $13M

The 7,000-square-foot home comes with six bedrooms

Calling this Upper West Side townhouse opulent might be quite the understatement seeing as every room is pretty much bedecked as though it were a French castle. That might have something to do with the fact that this landmarked brownstone was built in 1886 for a member of the Lehman banking family, according to the brokerbabble.

Rich in period details, this five-story townhouse spans 7,000 square feet, and is now on the market asking $13 million. Property records show that the house has been with the same owner for about 25 years, but it seems like they’ve now decided to part ways. The house is also being offered as a $30,000/month rental.

The townhouse is currently configured as a two family house with an owner’s unit taking up the top four floors of the building. The six-bedroom, six-bathroom home comes with 12-foot tall ceilings in the parlor floor, a garden on the ground floor, and two terraces offering about 250 square feet of space. The townhouse still maintains a lot of its original detailing and the brokers have described the restoration as "truly museum quality."
