Which lovely East Village co-op under $1 million would you buy?

Cast your vote

Imagine you have around $900,000 to spend on a place and you've narrowed it down to two East Village apartments. How do you make up your mind? The answer is simple: you shove them into a metaphorical cage and let them battle it out until one emerges victorious. It's time for Real Estate Deathmatch.

Address: 546 East 11th Street #2B/ 126 East 12th Street #1D
Price: $825,000 $899,000
Monthly Fees: $658 $1,613
Type: Co-op Co-op
Beds, Baths: 2, 1 2, 1

↑ First up is this two-bedroom on East 11th Street, and at $825,000, it’s the cheaper of the two apartments. Though it’s in a pre-war building, the apartment has gotten a number of upgrades: The bathroom is all new (and comes with a fancy Toto toilet), and the renovated kitchen has nice cabinets and quartz counters. Maintenance is a mere $683 per month, but alas, no dogs are allowed.

↑ This two-bedroom on East 12th Street, meanwhile, has a higher asking price—$899,000—and quite a different layout. The bedrooms are smaller, but the kitchen is quite spacious, and there’s an extra room (laid out here as a formal dining room) just off the living room. The apartment was also recently renovated, though the finishes are slightly more vintage-y than in the other place. The maintenance fee is $1,613.

So, which one would you choose? Cast your vote:
