Two Years After Selling, City's Saddest Penthouse Returns Asking $8M

This three-bedroom triplex penthouse spans 3,381 square feet.

What was once dubbed the city’s saddest penthouse for its struggle to find a buyer, has now returned to the market asking $7.995 million — and it appears the triplex apartment has shed its astroturf-clad outdoor spaces in favor of wooden decking this time around.

This three-bedroom apartment spanning 3,381-square feet tried on several occasions to find a buyer starting 2008, until it was finally snapped up for $5.1 million in 2014, down from its 2008 ask of $9.175 million. The owners seem to have spiffed up the place since, but are now looking to unload it for a few million more than they purchased it for.

Some of the standout features in this condo, apart from the multiple balconies and the private roof deck, include 14-foot tall ceilings, a fireplace and floor-to-ceiling glass doors in the living room, a hot tub, and European walnut floors.
