SHoP's Revamped Fulton Market Building For Seaport Gets New Renderings

The building will have a movie theater, a bar, and other retail

Work on revamping the Fulton Market Building in the South Street Seaport area is moving forward, and with it developer Howard Hughes has released new renderings for the commercial project. On Tuesday, the developer won approval from the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission to alter signage on the building, YIMBY reports.

Some Commissioners raised concerns about the size of the signage but in the end they decided to approve as long as Howard Hughes ensured that the new signage would be around the same size as the existing one.

Plans for the SHoP-designed revamped were first approved in the summer of 2014. So what’s in store for the space? So far, it’s an iPic Theaters multiplex, the NYC outpost of The Tuck Room, and a third tenant that’s yet to be named. A spokesperson for Howard Hughes told YIMBY that an opening date for the market had to be decided.
