Huge Greenwich Village townhouse with stunning solarium asks $12.95M

You don't see solariums like this too often

From the outside, the home at 144 Waverly Place appears to be just another expensive Greenwich Village townhouse. The five-story single-family abode encompasses 6,300 square feet and comes with several fireplaces and some exposed brick, things fairly common for early 19th-century Manhattan homes. But there are is one detail that does take the cake.

The rear of the house is where things get interesting. While the front facade is in the Greek Revival style, the rear facade looks like it belongs to a completely different home. The solarium sits as an extension of the home while giving view to the nearly 1,000-square-foot garden space below. It’s interesting, to say the least. There are also herringbone-laid wood floors, oversized windows, and renovated kitchens and bathrooms.

The whopping nine-bedroom home hasn’t been virtually staged, allowing us to appreciate it in its natural glory. So what’s the cost of it all? $12.95 million is the magic number.
