Rent an East Village synagogue-turned-opulent townhouse for $30K/month

This four-story townhouse spans over 4,000-square-feet

The Lower East Side’s tenement-shul-turned-luxury-townhouse is back on the market as a rental, and it’s still asking $30,000. Spread out over four floors, the massive townhouse comes with four bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and close to 1,000-square-feet of outdoor space.

Gut renovated in 2005, the building still maintains many of its original dramatic details such as 22-foot-tall cathedral ceilings, floor-to-ceiling walls of exposed brick, and Wenge wood paneling. The exterior windows were recreated to mimic the windows in the original building, and new additions include the Brazilian hardwood cherry floors, Italian granite counters in the kitchen, and radiant floor heating.

Some of the other standout features include the terrace off the master bedroom that comes with a hot tub that fits eight people, a library on the third floor that comes with an Italian marble fireplace, and a master bathroom with a jacuzzi tub.

The townhouse has been offered as a rental multiple times since 2012, and over the years the price has fluctuated between $23,500 and $30,000. It was still asking the latter price when it was most recently on the market in June this year. It’s available for two-month lease terms and comes fully furnished.
