A definitive list of streets to avoid during the TCS NYC Marathon
It's the beginning of November which can only mean one thing: Thousands of dedicated runners will invade the city’s streets on Sunday, November 6 for the annual TCS New York City Marathon, making their way through a grueling 26.2 mile-course that will take them through all five boroughs. It's one of those somewhat magical events where it feels like the entire city comes together for a positive reason (something we all need this year), and if you want to get in on that, the marathon's official website has a handy spectator guide, with details on where to watch, the route, and more.
As always, with this amazing event comes traffic woes for everyone else looking to navigate the city. This handy list (PDF!) of street closures from the Department of Transportation might not completely save you from stress and headaches, but knowing what areas to avoid will definitely come in handy.
