Streit's Matzo Factory-Replacing Condos Launch Sales From $995,000

Several of the 45 apartments hit the market for under $1 million

Say hello to the condos that will replace the Streit's Matzo Factory on Rivington Street. Sales launched today for 150 Rivington, as the new development will be known, with six of its apartments hitting StreetEasy. Those range from a 610-square-foot one-bedroom, asking $1.195 million, to one of the development's four penthouses, which is asking $3.8 million.

The family-owned Streit's factory held out against the encroaching condo-fication of the Lower East Side for a long time, but since Cogswell Realty bought the site in 2015, things have progressed pretty quickly. Plans for the condo were only confirmed in December; demolition began a couple of months ago; and here we are with listings and renderings already.

The development will have 45 apartments, split between one-, two-, and three-bedrooms, along with four penthouse units. (No floorplans are available yet, alas.) Those will start at $995,000, $1.7 million, $2.75 million, and $3.8 million, respectively. Building amenities will include an on-site fitness center, bike storage, common outdoor areas, and more. There'll also be 13,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.
