First Look at The Chamberlain, the Upper West Side Parking Garage-Turned-Condos

The development's 39 condos will ask from $2.5 million

All evidence of 269 West 87th Street's former life as a parking garage is being scrubbed from the site as it gives way to The Chamberlain, Simon Baron and Quadrum's new Upper West Side condo project. The developers leased the garage between Broadway and West End Avenue with plans to convert it into a 39-unit condo. The developers tapped FXFOWLE to conduct the conversion and build an addition that will top out at 17 stories. Champalimaid has been brought in to design the building's interiors.

Until now there's only been a rather unglamorous view of what the project will look like, but the development's teaser site launch brings with it a first rendering that shows off the building's entrance. It also comes with a few additional details, namely that the development's two- to five-bedroom condos, two townhouses, and three five-bedroom penthouses will be priced from $2.5 million.

Building amenities will include a private central garden, a resident's lounge, library, gym, kid's playroom, and a multi-purpose court that can be used for pick-up basketball games. Sales in the building are expected to launch in late summer.
