Vacant East Williamsburg Lot Will Transform Into Offices, Event Hall

Renderings for 187 Cook Street reveal big changes for the site

North Brooklyn’s industrial zone is becoming a little less industrial with every new development. According to YIMBY, 187 Cook Street in East Williamsburg is set to become a medley of office, warehouse, and event hosting space with an 85-car garage thrown in. Renderings of the development depict a six-story building situated near the corner of Bushwick Avenue and White Street. Plans include over 22,500 square feet of office and warehouse space and almost 8,000 square feet allotted for the event hall. Terraces and balconies permeated in glass makes for a more residential than commercial appearance, yet this is somewhat rectified by way of concrete and metal elements fixated decisively for a more industrial tone.

The Loketch Group is currently in the process of acquiring the site, with expectations of closing within 60 days and hopes to have plans approved by the Department of Buildings within three months. Assuming all goes well, construction will commence shortly thereafter. Charles Mallea’s Architecture has reportedly applied for permits while J. Frankl Associates will be charged with executing the design.
