Hudson Yards's 38-Story Residential Building Gets Its First Rendering

The building includes 251 apartments, 20 percent of them are affordable

New details have emerged on Lalezarian Properties' planned residential tower in the Hudson Yards neighborhood. Yimby spotted the first rendering for the project at the construction site, which is located between 515 West 36th Street (between 10th and 11th Avenues).

This Ismael Levya Architects-designed building will rise 38 stories and include 251 apartments. Of those, about 50 will be below market rate units — the developer was able to build an additional 33,000 square feet of residential space due to this provision.

The first three floors of the building will include retail. There are plans for 36,000 square feet of community facilities above that, and apartments start on floor eight. Residents will also have access to terraces on the ninth and 36th floors.

The project came about after Lalezarian's purchase of four lots on West 36th and 37th Streets for $46.9 million in 2012 and 2013. Construction on the project is expected to wrap up sometime in 2018.
