Bjarke Ingels Design Will Likely Remain the Choice for 2 World Trade Center

Rumored prospective tenants include JP Morgan & Chase and BlackRock

News emerged early this year that News Corp and 21st Century Fox were pulling out as the anchor tenants at 2 World Trade Center, jeopardizing the future of the Bjarke Ingels-designed project. But now, the developers behind the project, Silverstein Properties, have hinted that they are likely to stick with the Ingels design while marketing it to prospective tenants, the New York Post reports.

Those prospective tenants are rumored to be JP Morgan & Chase, and BlackRock, according to the Post. Larry Silverstein, the head of the Silverstein Properties told the Post that once News Corp pulled out, their firm had the option of going with Ingels' design or a previously proposed Norman Foster design.

However based on the tenants Silverstein spoke with, Ingels' design is the likely choice, and a representative for Silverstein confirmed to Curbed that the firm "expects to use the Bjarke Ingels design for 2 WTC."

Silverstein owns three other buildings at the site: the under-construction 3 World Trade Center, which Curbed recently toured, and the completed 4 World Trade Center, and 7 World Trade Center.
