19th-Century UWS Mansion Reborn as Boutique Condos Asking From $4.75M

The NYC mansion is now a series of condos with impressive outdoor spaces

Address: 272 West 86th Street

Developer: East River Partners

Architect: Barry Rice Architects

Size: 7 units

Prices: beginning at $4.75 million

Sales have launched for luxury condos at 272 West 86th Street, a new Upper West Side condo development. The six-story building has just seven units ranging from three to six bedrooms, two of which private gardens measuring more than 850 square feet. The penthouse, meanwhile, has an amazing 2,575 square feet of outdoor space. Other amenities include spacious oversized bathrooms with marble mosaic floors, ample closet and entertainment space, and a 24 hour doorman. Units begin at $4.75 million.

The building, located between Broadway and West End Avenue, was originally designed as three separate mansions by architect C.P.H. Gilbert in 1895. Developers East River Partners snapped up the properties several years ago, and brought on Barry Rice Architects to gut the buildings and transform them into the forthcoming boutique condos; while the interiors have been renovated, the exteriors feature original limestone and Roman brick facade. Move-ins should begin later this year.
