The apartment sold for $14.5 million in 2014
A penthouse reportedly purchased by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss two years ago has hit the rental market for a staggering monthly sum. The Social Network bros turned Bitcoin entrepreneurs were linked to the penthouse when real estate developer Justin Ehrlich unloaded it for $14.5 million in the summer of 2014. The address listed with the buyer—Casterlirock LLC—was he same one associated with the Winklevoss twins' Bitcoin trust.
And now it could be yours—furnished!—for a mere $100,000 per month. The 4,300-square-foot apartment, with 2,300 square feet of outdoor space, comes with Siberian white oak flooring, Argosy steel and glass and a skylight. Oh, and the wraparound terrace offers 360 degree views of the city.
Listing photos show it’s been outfitted with furniture totally appropriate for very rich tech bros, like a hanging leather chair and a totally decked-out media room. The living room also has its own projector and screen. As the listing notes, the furnishings were supplied by "a well-known interior designer," though it doesn't say who, exactly.
Another penthouse in the building—owned by Daniel Houser, creator of the video game Grand Theft Auto—attracted Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz a few years back, but they never made an offer, and it was last listed for $10 million.
