On Tiny Centre Market Place, a Townhouse By a Famous Design Duo Asks $8M

The townhouse designed by Robert and Cortney Novogratz was last on the market in 2005

Design duo Bob and Cortney Novogratz left their quirky mark on Centre Market Place in the mid-aughts with the five townhouses they built and designed for the single-block street. One of those townhouses, replete with domed basketball court, has struggled to sell since 2010 ( Hallelujah! The townhouse is now in contract for $9.75 million), and now another of the idiosyncratic couple's townhouses is perhaps poised to take its place. The townhouse at no. 2 just hit the market asking $7.995 million.

It's the first time the townhouse has been on the market since the Novogratz's sold it for $2.1 million in 2005 to the current owner, a former financial exec-turned-A&R guy. The townhouse's listing touts its "oversized" amenities (the word comes up no fewer than six times) including its vented chefs hood, overhead skylights, glass French doors with Juliette balconies, tub, windows, and basement. The 4BR/3.5BA townhouse also comes with radiant heated floors throughout, a parlor-floor gas fireplace, and views onto the rather delightful former police building across the street.
